The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia was established by royal charter in 1928.It has more than 67,000 members, including more than 55,000 chartered accountants and more than 12,000 trainees.The purpose of the association of chartered accountants in Australia is by conducting forward-looking leadership project leads the Australian accounting profession development, to develop high quality professional ethics, professional and education standards, improve the brand image of chartered accountants in Australia, and further strengthen the brand promotion, represents the interests of the members, voice response industry.The Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia is governed by a Board of Directors.The Board of Directors consists of 11 directors, seven of whom are elected from their Chartered Accountants membership and the remaining four directors appointed directly by the Board of Directors.Directors serve a three-year term with a maximum of two consecutive terms.The President and Vice-President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia are appointed annually by the Board.The board of directors has four committees, including audit and risk, governance, nomination and administrative supervision.In addition, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia has 4 advisory committees, 6 regional councils and 5 overseas member organizations, including corporate, professional, regional Australia and education.
